The Hydra is a monstrous multi-headed serpent from Greek mythology, dwelling within the swamps of Lerna where its poisonous breath and blood corrupted the land itself. Each time one of its heads was severed, more would grow back in its place, making the creature nearly impossible to kill. Feared as one of the great monsters of the ancient world, the Hydra represented relentless destruction and the terrifying idea that some evils only grow stronger when fought.
